About Us

Derby Collectables is based in Derby and was established in 2007. We have grown from a small stall in a local antiques centre to a successful, established online retailer both through our early ebay store and now our independent online shop. 

We are proud to be authorised retailers of Royal Crown Derby (based in Derby since 1750 - and still manufacturing some of the world's finest tableware and homewares). We specialise in Royal Crown Derby Past and Present and have a particular appreciation for new and pre-owned paperweights; seasonal collectables and tableware and decorative homewares including orient inspired Imari wares and the beautiful 'Victoria's Garden' collection.

 

Inspired by the rich ceramics imported from Japan in the late seventeenth and early eighteenth century, Derby porcelain has been famous worldwide for the manufacture of their rich Imari wares since the late 18th Century. There have been many Royal Crown Derby Imari and Imari-inspired patterns since then and the designers are constantly creating adaptations of these patterns and showcasing them throughout the range of paperweights, tableware, accent plates and decorative homewares. The Imari Wares collection we have in store includes new and pre-owned paperweights, seasonal wares, a selection of tableware (including the beautiful Imari Accent plates), collectables and giftware.

 

Our pre-owned collection of Derby ceramics includes antiques from the Derby Crown Porcelain era; early pieces from the Bloor period; vintage Royal Crown Derby and contemporary pre-owned pieces including retired and rare, limited-edition paperweights.

 

We believe in operating our business in as 'Green' a way as possible. Antique, Vintage and Contemporary pre-owned pieces are by their very nature 'Green' - and finding new homes for these quality pieces, to be appreciated for many more years to come, is what Derby Collectables is most proud of. We source our collections locally and use local services to support our business wherever possible and we use recycled materials where appropriate.
